Copper Sulphate is an inorganic compound that combines sulfur with copper. It can kill bacteria, algae, roots, plants, snails and fungi. It is for this reason that many farmers use it in footbaths for sheep to prevent and treat Foot Rot. Copper is an essential mineral and as such Copper Sulphate can also be used as a drench for animals with a copper deficiency.

The dilution rate for both copper sulphate and zinc sulphate is 10pc.
That means that for every 10 litres of solution in the footbath you should add 1kg of either copper or zinc sulphate. The advantage of using either copper or zinc sulphate is that these products can be reused over a period of time (provided that they are not excessively soiled or diluted by rainfall
