Slowly releases over 6 months
Coprac Lamb provides its mineral release using copper oxide needles.
After administration of Coprac Lamb, a proportion of the copper oxide rods lodges in the folds of the animal stomach lining.
This allows for a a sustained, slow-release source of copper to supplement your animal's diet.
At the same time, however, avoids the sharp rises in copper levels which can lead to copper toxicity.
The liver stores the released copper.
The copper reserves stored in the liver are released gradually for approximately 6 months.
This slow, steady release ensures adequate copper status.
Please note: You should know the copper status of your flock before administering.
Do not give to animals with good copper status.
The copper release lasts for a period of approximately 6 months.
Sheep Bolus
The administration technique is a vital part of ensuring that the bolus does its job effectively.
Make sure that the sheep are properly restrained and cannot leap around when they are being given the bolus so that they are able to swallow correctly.
Sheep can also suffer serious injury, or even death, if they are unrestrained and the gun penetrates the tissues at the back of the mouth.
Place a hand under the head and tilt slightly to the side.
Slot the nozzle in the gap between molar and incisor teeth and then over the back of the tongue.
If the operative just puts the bolus into the mouth, it may be rejected by the sheep.
