Koldclean 20kg is a cold circulation cleaner for milk pipelines. All dairy farms need a cleaning agent, either a powder caustic (78%) or a liquid caustic (20-30%) is used. Liquid caustics are more cost efficient and easier to use in most cases. When using Koldclean 20kg, it tends to be very fast binding if the water is hard making it harder to clean. Nowadays the main cleaning agent on dairy farms are liquid caustics although there are some farms who still use powder caustics.

In Place Cleaning:

Prior to using Koldclean 20kg cleaning chemical, pipelines must be free of any milk particles. It was formerly recommended to perform a monthly chlorine hot wash. After milking, remove any external dirt from the clusters, tubes, and jetters. Rinse the system thoroughly with clean, cold water (14L per milking unit) to eliminate milk residue and run to waste. Run cold water into a water trough (9L per milking unit), then add Koldclean 20kg at a rate of 226g per 45L. Pour the solution into the plant and let 7 litres go to waste; then circulate the remaining liquids through the system for 10 minutes. After circulation, leave the solution in the wash trough until the next wash. Don't rinse the plant at this moment. After the next milking, thoroughly rinse the plant with cold clean water. (14 liters per milking unit). Leave to drain before beginning to milk. After milking, pre-rinse the plant and circulate the stored solution, then release it to the drain. As before, do not rinse until right before your next milking session.

Monthly Hot Chlorine Wash:

A monthly chlorine hot wash is recommended, especially when milk deposits are visible. Run the needed amount of hot water (82 degrees Celsius) into the wash trough, then add Koldclean 20kg at a rate of 226g Koldclean to 45L of water and 0.5L of Centrachlor Red Label. Pour the solution into the plant, circulating it for 10 minutes, then releasing it to the drain. After circulating the solution, thoroughly rinse the plant with cool, clean water.

Rinsing:

To reduce the possibility of contamination from milk residues after using the product, thoroughly rinse it. Another sterilizing rinse with peracetic acid can be added at a ratio of 60ml peracetic acid to 45L water. Peracetic acid reacts with any caustic agent, thus the plant must be cleaned before use.

Storage:

Store in a cool dry area, clear from any acid products.

Danger:

Can cause severe skin burns and/or eye damage
