The Single Portable Unit Complete

The Single Portable Unit Complete is an oil run, stand-alone milking machine. It comes supplied with its own vacuum system, pulsation, milk reception/storage and milking equipment. The unit is installed on a hot dip galvanised frame. The Single Portable Unit Complete is easily transported and used in a variety of situations.

The vacuum pump is driven by a motor connected to an electric supply, either mains electricity or a generator. The vacuum pump has a gauge which clearly shows the vacuum level and a regulator so the vacuum level can be adjusted. The supplied pneumatic pulsator operates off the vacuum supply.

Also provided is a cluster support, which can minimise vacuum loss while promoting correct cluster positioning.

The Single Portable Unit Complete can be used for cows in isolation and therefore not able to access the main milking system. It may also be used for goats and sheep. This unit is very easy to transport so can be used on cows attending shows or competition.

While milking or washing it is vitally important that the bucket is not allowed to overfill, allowing liquid to enter the vacuum tank and if not careful then into the vacuum pump itself.

As with all equipment routine maintenance is essential. With portable milker’s it is important to ensure that all liners, gaskets and tubing are maintained in good condition. The vacuum supply tube from the machine to the buckets and the inside of the vacuum tank itself will require regular inspection and cleaning using a tube brush where necessary. Occasional inspection by a qualified milking machine engineer is advisable to ensure optimum performance is obtained. Milking liners will need to be changed every 2500 milking’s or every 6 months whichever comes first.

If washed, stored and maintained properly the portable milking machines are extremely reliable, surprisingly quiet and provide a very valuable piece of equipment to both large farms and home users.
